Girls Wrestling Wins SYRL Championship Congratulations to the Girls Wrestlers who earned Liberty's first SYRL Leage Championship. In addition, Brooke Aguileara and Chad Troxler won the most outstanding wrestler awards. Nice job Pats!
Bus Delay Only In the event that one of the K-8 feeder districts call a delay and KHSD does not, some bus routes will be delayed 2 hours. Please see the image/chart on this page to learn what bus routes are delayed if Rio Bravo-Greely, Rosedale, or Fruitvale call delays but Kern High does not.
Winter Sports Schedules Winter sports started league play last week. Basketball and soccer play on Wednesdays and Fridays. Liberty wrestling hosts a dual meet on January 23. Winter sports schedules can be found on the Liberty website under the Athletics tab.
Spring Sports Athletic Packet All athletes, not involved in a fall or winter sport, must submit a new physical exam form (filled out by a physician) and electronic sports packet prior to participating. Spring sports include Baseball, Boys Golf, Boys Tennis, Softball, Swim & Dive, and Track & Field. Please contact the Liberty athletics office with any questions.

Mobile Blood Drive @ Liberty Wednesday Students who are at least 16 years old can donate blood when the Houchin mobile blood drive comes to Liberty on Wednesday, January 24. Come pick up a permission slip for our blood drive in the activities office and sign up for a slot. All donors will be put in a raffle for a free prom ticket. When you give, people live!

Campus Improvements Over the course of the first semester, we have seen painters on campus almost daily freshening up our campus. This will continue into the spring. In addition, to improve efficiency, noise level, and air quality, a new HVAC project started over the winter break. By the beginning of next school year, the 25-year-old HVAC unit ventilators in every classroom will be replaced.
Liberty Chess Competes in KHSD Tournament Nine Liberty Chess Club members competed in junior varsity and varsity brackets at last weekend’s Kern High School District five-round chess tournament at Highland High School. The Patriots had two students place in the varsity section: Lily Arnold took 2nd and Piheng (Chen) Chen took 5th. Ethan Bajwa took 3rd in JV after two blitz (5 minute sudden death) tie break victories.
