Liberty FFA Hosts Inaugural Advisory Board Meeting

Liberty High School proudly held the inaugural meeting of its FFA Advisory Board, marking an exciting milestone for the Agriculture Education program. While establishing an advisory board is a required component of maintaining an active FFA chapter, District Agriculture Lead Clay Freeman shared that Liberty’s board is the largest in the district, a testament to the strength of our new program and the support of our community.
The purpose of the FFA Advisory Board is twofold: to build strong partnerships within the agricultural community and to ensure that what is being taught in Liberty’s classrooms is current, relevant, and aligned with industry needs. Academic Decathlon Makes History at County Competition

On Saturday, February 7, Liberty’s Academic Decathlon team delivered a historic performance at the Kern County Academic Decathlon competition. Competing against 14 schools, Liberty earned an impressive 6th place overall, a tremendous accomplishment and the highest finish in school history. Just one year ago, the team placed 14th out of 18 schools. As the team motto reminds us, progress matters: as long as we improve each year, we are succeeding.
This year, the team embraced the quote “Ancora Imparo” – Michelangelo, at 87 years old. The Italian phrase means, “I am still learning.” It reflects the belief that learning is not an end result but a continuous journey. Under the leadership of coaches Mr. Hartman and Ms.Rascon, our students embodied this mindset, demonstrating resilience, growth, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
