Thirty-five members of Liberty’s Just Serve Club went “Caroling for Cans” to collect food for the Salvation Army Saturday, Dec. 9, in neighborhoods near school.

This is the last week of the semester and we are on a final exam schedule Wednesday – Friday, December 20-22. On final exam days, two periods meet each day and school is out at 1:08pm. On Friday, the office will close at 1:30pm.

Monday: One hour early out schedule
Tuesday: Regular schedule
Wednesday: Final exam schedule - 1st & 2nd Period
Thursday: Final exam schedule - 3rd & 4th Period
Friday: Final exam schedule - 6th & 7th Period

Four Liberty High School’s choirs will perform their annual Winter Choir Concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday Dec. 12. Tickets are $5 for general admission and $3 for students. All proceeds go toward the choir scholarship fund.

Check out some amazing student work at the LHS Winter Art Show on Thursday, December 14 between 6 and 7:30pm in the Library. Light refreshments will be provided.

The 3rd California Math League -- or CAML -- test of the year is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 13, during lunch in various math teachers’ classrooms. The extracurricular, optional tests give students an opportunity to “think outside the box, rather than regurgitating facts,” according to math teacher Jose Castro.

Liberty’s Advanced Drama students will present “Our Christmas Comedy Showcase” Thursday and Friday Dec. 8 and 9 in the PAC. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with performances beginning at 7 p.m. General admission is $5.

Forty whole blood units were collected from student and staff donors at Liberty’s fall blood drive conducted Nov. 14 by Houchin Community Blood Bank. Student coordinator Gavin Seals said, “The blood drive went really well this year. I love being able to provide opportunities for our students and faculty to give back to the community."

The Liberty BDC annual Poinsettia Fundraiser is back, and it’s bigger and better than ever! Support the band by purchasing a poinsettia in a 6-inch pot for $15 or 8-inch pot for $25. Click on the “Read More” link to go to the fundraiser website.

Our schoolwide theme this year is The Road to Greatness. In order to acheive greatness, as Patriots we want to be intentional about increasing healthy habits and eliminating unhealthy ones. This week is Responsibility Week with a drug prevention theme and activities including dress up days, a Patriot PRIDE Thursday, lunch time activities, and a Fine Arts rally.
