Listos Students Explore USC and the Science of Sports

From there, the group headed to the University of Southern California for a campus tour. Students walked through USC’s stunning campus, learning about its academic programs, campus culture, and long-standing traditions. For many, this was their first visit to a major university.

LISTOS student Jesse Wood reflected on the day, sharing, “Our trip to USC with the Listos club was an amazing experience. Yesterday we learned a lot—that everything you do, science can back it up. We learned that it’s never too late to do something else. USC has wonderful business and finance classes.”

Other students were similarly inspired.
Victor Guevara Rodriguez said, “At USC we learned about great paths to take after graduating high school. We were taken on a tour all across campus, learning about specific classes, school culture, and the history of the campus. One interesting part of the tour was the hall with numerous awards from sports. We got to be part of the tradition where if you touch the heads of the trophies it gives you good luck to get into the school. Overall, the experience was super unique and Listos is extremely grateful for the trip.”

Matthew Aparicio appreciated both the activities and the authentic look at college life. “When visiting USC, I really enjoyed the amount of interactive activities available such as soccer, basketball, and many others. The trip also really highlighted what an average day feels like for students at USC and what they get to see every day.”

For Kenny Jhovani, the environment made a lasting impression. “USC was a fun college to tour. This college has a fun environment and the culture on the campus is great. The things I liked about this campus are that it’s super diverse and I liked that the classes were the ones I wanted.”

The students wrapped up the day motivated and grateful for the opportunity to envision their future possibilities. All the boys truly enjoyed visiting USC and exploring the incredible universities they may one day call home.
