Liberty Students Excel on Second CAML Test of the Year

Despite the tough test, 63 students earned at least one correct answer. Liberty’s team score for this round was 18 points, led by outstanding performances from Antonio Beccari, Joseph Jephson, and Keen Nguyen, who each solved four problems correctly. Nine additional students earned three correct answers, contributing to a strong overall showing for the Patriots.

Among the top scorers, Keen Nguyen earned the $10 gift card to The Habit. Three more students, Lyla Johnson, a junior in GATE Advanced Algebra; Carter Stiles, a junior in Honors Analysis; and David Klein, a junior in CP Analysis, each won $5 Dunkin’ Donuts gift cards after being selected from the pool of students who answered at least one question correctly.

After just two tests, the race for the year’s overall high score is tightening. Drake Medrano and Joseph Jephson are currently tied with eight points, but eight other students sit within three points of the leaders. With this kind of competition, the standings could shift quickly in the coming months.

The third CAML test is scheduled for Tuesday, December 9. Students shared why they choose to participate in this rigorous academic challenge:

“I enjoy taking the CAML test because the questions help me understand mathematical concepts with more depth, whether they come from geometry or calculus. It gives me perspective on my current understanding of math and shows me where I can improve.”

Another student explained, “I take the CAML test because I enjoy trying to solve problems I normally wouldn’t see. I like competing with my friends in a fun way while also making myself smarter, and potentially winning a gift card.”

A third student added, “I like the CAML test because it allows me to think outside the box without worrying about messing up. It feels like a challenge, and I learn new things.”

Liberty is proud of all students who continue to push themselves academically and embrace the challenge of competitive mathematics. Good luck to everyone preparing for the next test!
