At Liberty, we believe that helping students prepare for their future means giving them opportunities to see what is possible. That is why we are excited to host Liberty High School’s first-ever Career Fair on September 17.

Last year, we introduced a new format for Back to School Night and rebranded the evening as Patriot Welcome. The goal was simple: create an evening that feels less like a traditional Back to School Night and more like a welcome celebration for our entire Liberty family.
After a great first year, Patriot Welcome is back for 2026–27.

Sometimes, being a light doesn’t require a spotlight. Sometimes, it simply means showing up, every single day.
That is exactly what Melvin has been doing for years as a crossing guard across from Fruitvale Junior High. His friendly smile, encouraging waves, and consistent presence have made him a familiar and beloved part of students’ mornings and afternoons. This year, Melvin was featured in Liberty’s back-to-school video as we introduced our theme, “Be a Light.”

Every year at Liberty, we roll out a special theme which creates a focused lens that sits alongside our PRIDE core values but allows us to go narrower and deeper into one idea for the year. Last year, that theme was Keep Going, Keep Growing, and it pushed us as a school to embrace the continuous cycle of improvement: that growth is never finished, and progress is a practice, not a destination.
This year, our theme is Be a Light.

Every year, our course catalog grows a little richer and this year, it's grown more than ever. As part of our commitment to giving every Patriot a path to discover their strengths, explore new interests, and find their people, Liberty is proud to launch an impressive lineup of new classes for 2026–27.
Whether a student is chasing a career interest, digging into a passion, or simply looking for a class where they feel like they belong, this year's additions offer something for nearly everyone.

Every year, before a new class of freshmen walks through our doors, nearly 300 juniors and seniors come together for an important purpose: to prepare to welcome, mentor, and encourage the newest members of our school community.
Through our Freshmen Link program, Link Crew students spend two full days, approximately four hours each day, learning how to become mentors and positive role models for our incoming freshmen and preparing to welcome them to Liberty at Freshman Fling. While the training includes plenty of energy, laughter, icebreakers, and small-group activities, the purpose behind it is much deeper. Link Crew is about building a culture where every student knows they matter.

This week, we had the privilege of celebrating the Liberty High School Class of 2026 as they crossed the stage and officially became Liberty alumni. After watching the weather forecast all week and wondering what graduation night might bring, we were grateful that the rain held off, allowing us to enjoy a chilly but beautiful evening surrounded by family, friends, staff, and community members who came together to honor this remarkable class.

Liberty High School was proudly represented at the CIF State Track & Field Championships this weekend as several Patriot athletes competed against the very best competitors in California. Their performances capped off an outstanding season and showcased the talent, determination, and competitive spirit that define Liberty athletics.
Leading the way was junior Maddie Porter, who earned an incredible 2nd-place finish in the state in the pole vault. Maddie cleared 12'6", tying the eventual state champion's height. The championship was decided only by the number of attempts, with the winner reaching the mark in fewer tries. Maddie’s runner-up finish comes on the heels of a personal-best performance at the Central Section Championships, where she cleared 12'8". As if competing at the highest level in one event was not enough, Maddie also qualified for and competed in the 100-meter hurdles, demonstrating her versatility and athletic excellence.
