Liberty’s choir will perform a Country-Western variety show and concert called “Three Chords and the Truth” Thursday, May 18 at 6pm. Admission to the concert is $5 for general admission and $3 for students, with proceeds benefiting the Choir Booster Scholarship Fund.

This past Friday, three liberty seniors earned degrees from Bakersfield College. Congratulations to Anna Alvarado, Julian Duran, and Victoria Marchetti!

Gracie Dean, Samara Moseley, Sophia Munoz-Rodriguez, Rylie Moxham, competed at the state championships last Friday and Saturday. Their 200 Free Relay earned 8th overall and the 200 Medley Relay earned 9th place. Thanks to all our swimmers and Coach Urmston for an awesome season!

Our track athletes competed in the CIF Central Section D1 Track and Field Championship Meet on Friday, May 5th, with both boys and girls teams placing 5th overall. Brock Wattenbarger, Ethan Mahanke, Ermiah Harrison, Christian Edwards, and Bella Turner placed 1st at least one event. Congrats to Christian Edwards (track), Camryn Perdue (volleyball), Sophie Stanley (soccer), and Jaycee Watkins (soccer) who signed to contine take their talents to the next level!

Three long-time Liberty teachers are retiring in June: Yearbook adviser and English teacher Pete Tittl, art teacher Linda Brown, and math teacher Matthew Smith. Together they have 98 years of teaching experience, including 62 at Liberty.

Twenty-five members of the Liberty Art Club took a field trip to the Santa Barbara Museum of Art Tuesday, May 2. The museum is located in downtown Santa Barbara and is home to both permanent and special collections, including Asian, American, and European art that spans 4,000 years from ancient to modern.

CTEC is offering one Summer School High School course for current Sophomores and Juniors. "Intro to Sport's Medicine" It is an introductory course covering the basics of both personal training and injury care management. This is a 6-week course.

The swimmers performed well at the Central Section Championships held at Clovis West on May 5 & 6 including 1st place medals going to Samara Moseley in the Girls 50 Free, Sophia Munoz-Rodriguez in the 100 Fly, and a 1st Place 200 Free Relay with Gracie Dean, Samara Moseley, Rylie Moxham, and Sophia Munoz-Rodriguez.
