Join the Riot Crew (Camo Out) for a free ride on the rooter bus as our Pats take on the Buhcanan Bears in Clovis. The bus leaves at 4:30pm. Student schedules were likely adjusted since schedules went live last week due to additional class sections added to the school-wide master schedule. Students need to check their class schedule prior to reporting to 1st period on Wednesday.

We invite all new 10-12th grade students, their parents, and new 9th grade parents who could not make the morning session to an evening orientation. Transfer students will meet with Link Crew leaders, receive their schedule, and get a tour of the campus.

Freshmen Fling and Parent Orientation is Tuesday, August 8, 9am-11:30am in the gym. Incoming 9th graders will tour the campus, receive their class schedule, pick up their ID card, and much more!

Congratulations to all the Liberty athletes who were recognized as all-area team members! These include Christian Edwards and Bella Turner, Track Athletes of the Year, and Sophia Munoz-Rodriguez, Swimmer of the Year. First team players include: Brady Reynolds, Brock Thompson, Dylan Brar, Ethan Debusky, Ty Weaver, Claire Williams, Tyler Balgeman, Ethan Mahanke, Nicole Bridges, Emma Fredrick, Miguel Armas, Cody Hart, Joe Ohanessian, Drew Urmston, Jacob Zimmerman, Gracie Dean, Isabela Horaska, Samara Moseley, Rylie Moxham, Kristen Munoz-Rodriguez, Bradley Campoy, and Keen Nguyen. In addition, congratulations to Boys and Girls Track & Field Coach of the year Ryan Renz, and Girls Swim coach of the year, Marc Urmston.

Tryouts for water polo will begin on Monday, August 7. Both boys and girls teams will practice Monday – Friday, August 7-11, from 9:30 -11am at the Kern High Aquatics Complex.

Congratulations to Lauren Williams for taking 2nd place in the 20th Congressional District Art Show with her pencil on cardboard piece. In addition, Promessa Chaparro, Addison Johnson, and Taityanna Herrera were also honored by having pieces in the show that was held at the Frank Lloyd Wright designed Ablin Residence. Thanks to Linda Brown, retiring Liberty art teacher, for providing opportunities for our studnets to enter and be successful in a variety of art shows this year!

From The Bakersfield Californian: CLOVIS — It wasn’t the mark that he had hoped for but Christian Edwards' performances on Saturday was good enough to earn a medal at the CIF State Track and Field Championships at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Edwards, a senior from Liberty, placed fifth the long jump.

Junior Bella Turner finished 9th (in the state!) in both the 100 hurdles and the 300 hurdles with a 14.51 and a 44.58 respectively. Nice job Bella; congratulations! Check out the Kern High Network Instagram for photos of Bella Turner and Christian Edwards at the state meet.
