THE BAKERSFIELD CALIFORNIAN - If finding different ways to win a game was the goal, the Liberty girls basketball team can check off another box following Thursday’s Southern California Regional Division III playoffs game. Just 48 hours after a dramatic last-second shot that helped the Patriots advance, the team showcased a new method of success, blitzing visiting Buena Park early with an array of backdoor layups, 3-pointers and buckets off turnovers before coasting to a 70-49 victory, the team’s 17th straight win.

The FAFSA/Web Grant deadline for seniors is fast approaching. Liberty's Student Success Coaches are available during the school day to assist students in completing the application. They are calling out students and communicating through Canvas to offer support. The goal for all students to complete the process is making sure they have access to possible financial assistance, even for families who may not think they are eligible.

Congratulations to the Pats who are the Central Section Champs! The girls basketball team defeated Tehachapi 58 – 51 in the D-II Central Championship game at Selland Arena in Fresno on Friday night.

Liberty’s Annual Dime Wars competition among second period classes brought in $1,642.06 that will be donated to Marley’s Mutts and the Rescue Ranch to help pay for needed surgeries for rescue dogs.

This past Friday, girls soccer defeated Clovis East 3-0 at Patriot Stadium. The Lady Patriots will host Redwood this Tuesday, February 21, @ 6pm in the CIF D-I semi-finals. Let’s go PATRIOTS!
