THE BAKERSFIELD CALIFORNIAN - After experiencing a forgettable second quarter, it’s a good thing the Liberty football team has a short memory. The Patriots shook off a 14-point halftime deficit and outscored previously undefeated Yorba Linda 27-0 in the second half en route to a 41-28 victory on Saturday night in the CIF Southern California Regional 1-A Bowl Game at Nathan Shapell Memorial Stadium.

The National Honor Society donated more than 2,500 cans of food to the Salvation Army before Thanksgiving break. The society has 228 active members who donated 12 cans each. The cans were organized and moved to the Salvation Army truck by the NHS Service Committee, led by the Service Committee Leader Gina Bang.

Jostens will be on campus Tuesday, November 29, during lunch to take cap and gown orders and display other products for seniors. THE BAKERSFIELD CALIFORNIAN - Liberty claimed its second straight CIF Central Section Division I championship, 29-13, over San Joaquin Memorial. "It's special to be here back-to-back years, and come out with the W back-to-back years," Hankins said. "I'm just so happy to be a part of the team, be a part of this program. It feels great." The victory gave Liberty a chance to celebrate a valley championship at home after beating Fresno-Central 42-14 on the road last year.

Each week she takes hundreds of photos of all three levels of football and updates the program for each home game. Programs can be purchased for $5 cash as you enter the stadium. Many Patriots know Ryan Jockers, a Liberty senior, as a Pat RIOT CREW leader and all-around good guy. He has done a remarkable job with other leaders from the class of 2023 to bring amazing school spirit this year. However, what you may not know about is his recent completion of the New York City Marathon to raise funds for The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF). He raised 74% of his goal but we can still help.

Liberty’s ASB community service project for this school year is providing resources for animals at Kern County Animal Services and Marley’s Mutts, a Kern County dog rescue organization.

The Liberty Band, Drumline, and Colorguard finished their marching season by performing in the California State Band Championships on Saturday, November 20, in Huntington Beach taking 8th place. A special thanks to Mr. Armistead, Band Director, all the coaches and parent volunteers who helped make this season a success. Congratulations on making it to state finals!
