Four Liberty High School teachers who were among the original staff when the school opened in 1999 are retiring next week. The teachers are Rob Amble, Andy Hicks, Perry Ware, and Joan Swenson.
Liberty triple-sport senior athlete Chad Troxler was named a 2025 Jim Tyack Awards winner last Tuesday morning at a ceremony at Hodel’s. The award is given annually to one outstanding male and one outstanding female high school senior athlete in Kern County.
Many of our students spend a portion of their day taking classes in a career pathway at one of the two Kern High School District technical education campuses. Students have an opportunity to showcase their talents and to compete in their pathway area. Please see the attached picture of our students who earned accolades through this 2024-25 school year.
Thirty-four graduating seniors in Liberty’s Project Lead the Way program donned white lab coats at a ceremony in the cafeteria Wednesday, May 14, marking the completion of their biomedical science courses and the students’ commitment to the program. More than 150 family members and friends came to celebrate the students.
Liberty students had an opportunity to showcase their art and be recognized for thier excellence at the annual district Visual Arts Showcase hosted at the Bakersfield Museum of Art.
The mission of the Kern High School District is to provide programs and services to allow ALL students to graduate from high school prepared to succeed in the workplace and at the post-secondary level.
