Mark Erickson is Liberty’s new athletic director, filling the position left by Tim Davis, who retired as the school's athletic director after 20 years. Mr. Davis has returned to the classroom at Liberty. Mr. Erickson has been a K-8 PE teacher and most recently an adaptive PE teacher for Kern High. He is passionate about and committed to supporting Liberty athletic programs.

Liberty girls tennis is the number one seed and Volleyball is the number five seed in the CIF DI Central Section playoffs. After first round byes, both begin in the quarterfinals tonight. The Patriots host San Joaquin Memorial tennis at 3pm and volleyball is on the road at Clovis North, 6pm.

All 10th and 11th grade students will take their school yearbook photo today Wednesday, October 30, during thier social studies class. No paperwork is needed.

The next California Math League -- or CAML -- test is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 11, during lunch in various math teachers’ classrooms. The extracurricular, optional tests give students an opportunity to “think outside the box, rather than regurgitating facts,” according to math teacher Jose Castro.

In the next 2 weeks, we have college reps coming to Liberty to discuss admissions and campus life. Come to the counseling office to sign up to attend. Homecoming is usually the largest attended game of the year. Remember to buy tickets online in advance and show up early to get your parking spot and seat! Students wear the HOCO shirts on Friday. There will be a limited supply of homecoming shirts for sale ($25 cash only) for students who did not pre-order them beginning Wednesday at lunch at the finance office window.

This is homecoming week with dress up days, float building, activities at lunch, a food sale day on Wednesday, and a rally on Friday.

Students may use cell phones, smart watches or other mobile communication devices during non-instructional time. However, mobile devices shall not be used during instructional time except when granted permission by a teacher, during an emergency, or required by an IEP or physician.
