The student attendance calendar identifies holidays, early outs, 2nd period activity/rally schedules, and other modified schedules. It is available on our website under "Resources" or by clicking on this news story.

Each Monday, 7th period ends at 2:23pm. Teachers use this time to collaborate with members of their department and colleagues who teach the same course. This allows teachers to work together in building quality curriculum, designing effective lessons, reviewing common assessments, and ensuring authentic literacy is integrated into each course. This Thursday, August 22, we will conduct a Lockdown and Fire Drill. All staff were trained in our safety procedures at back to school meetings. This drill will provide staff and students an opportunity to practice our procedures. To reduce the impact on instructional time we will be on a 2nd Period Activity Schedule. In conjunction with other school districts and law enforcement agencies in Kern County, the Kern High School District uses a uniform, planned, and practiced standard response protocol (SRP).

The first day of school bell schedule is slightly different than a normal day. Each period is two minutes shorter to provide for a 19 minute longer 2nd period class. During this longer 2nd Period, teachers will present the theme for the year, our Patriot PRIDE core values, and other related opportunities for students.

Students will report directly to their 1st period class to receive their official schedule on Wednesday, August 14. First period locations for every student will be posted outside the Dean's Office. Staff will also be on campus to assist students finding their 1st period class. We encourage students to check their schedules through StudentVue as changes have occurred over the past couple of days due to balancing of classes.

Congratulations to all the Liberty athletes who were recognized as BVarsity All-Area team members! These include baseball player of the year Brock Thompson, golfer of the year Ty Weaver, girls swimmer of the year Sophia Munoz-Rodriguez, boys co-swimmer of the year Jacob Zimmerman, and girls track athlete of the year Bella Turner. Also, congratulations to baseball coach Tony Mills, swim coach Marc Urmston (Girls and Boys), and track coach Ryan Renz (Girls) for being named coach of the year! Students can view class schedules the afternoon of Tuesday, August 6, in the Synergy StudentVue or ParentVUE app.

Freshmen Fling is Thursday, August 8, 9 AM - 11:30 AM in the gym. Incoming 9th graders will tour the campus, receive their class schedule, pick up their ID card, and much more! Parents will meet in the Performing Arts Center from 9 AM - 10 AM. PE Clothes will also be available for purchase with cash or check.
