Many Patriots know Ryan Jockers, a Liberty senior, as a Pat RIOT CREW leader and all-around good guy. He has done a remarkable job with other leaders from the class of 2023 to bring amazing school spirit this year. However, what you may not know about is his recent completion of the New York City Marathon to raise funds for The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF). He raised 74% of his goal but we can still help.

Liberty’s ASB community service project for this school year is providing resources for animals at Kern County Animal Services and Marley’s Mutts, a Kern County dog rescue organization.

The Liberty Band, Drumline, and Colorguard finished their marching season by performing in the California State Band Championships on Saturday, November 20, in Huntington Beach taking 8th place. A special thanks to Mr. Armistead, Band Director, all the coaches and parent volunteers who helped make this season a success. Congratulations on making it to state finals!

Cross Country finished their season with the SYRL Championships at Riverwalk Park on November 10 and the Valley Championships at Woodward Park in Fresno on November 16. Aubrey Thompson and Nicole Bridges head to the State Championships on Saturday, November 26.

The Patriots are used to playing deep into November, but it is not every year that we get to host the Central Section Championship game. Friday, November 18, is a two-hour early out. However, since the lunch period is at the end of the day, students will be released from campus at 12:48pm, at the end of 7th period. The cafeteria will serve a free snack during the lunch period from 12:48 – 1:15. To align with all district schools who are also on a two-hour early out, school busses will leave around 1:20pm.

The Bakersfield Californian - On the off chance the Liberty football team needed a kick start, it got one in Thursday night’s Central Section Division I quarterfinals. Visiting Santa Maria-St. Joseph moved the ball 80 yards on 14 plays on the opening possession of the game to take an early 6-0 lead. As it turned out, the lead lasted exactly 13 seconds, about the time it took Patriots senior Xander Chisolm to sprint 86 yards to the opposite end zone on the ensuing kickoff.

Liberty's eSports team competed in the final League of Legends tournament of the season at North High last weekend, placing second among 14 schools. Liberty’s team went undefeated throughout the regular season without dropping a single round to an opponent.
