Patriot Family,
I want to begin this week by expressing my appreciation to the parents who were willing to serve on our Site Council. Your partnership and commitment to Liberty are invaluable. I also appreciate the senior families who showed up for Senior Information Night last week. Together, we create a strong foundation where our students can thrive, and I am deeply grateful for your willingness to collaborate in shaping the future of our school.
I am continually inspired by our students and their eagerness to serve and their desire to make meaningful connections with one another and the broader community. This spirit of service was beautifully demonstrated by our Just Serve club, who recently volunteered at the American Elementary Family Literacy Night. Their compassion and leadership reflect the best of Liberty.
Between the Golden Games, our Listening Circles, outstanding student performances at the Kern County Fair, and so much more, I could not be more proud of the way our year has begun. These moments are a testament to the energy, resilience, and joy our community brings to Liberty every single day.
Thank you for your continued support, encouragement, and partnership. It is a privilege to lead a school where students, families, and staff come together to celebrate what matters most.
Your partner in learning and growing, Leandrea Slayton Principal, Liberty High School

FFA Student Spotlights – Kern County Fair Accomplishments
This year marked a historic milestone for Liberty High School — for the first time in well over a decade, Liberty FFA proudly returned to the show ring at the Kern County Fair. Under the leadership of Mrs. Maghan Miller, our students not only competed but excelled, earning top honors and representing Liberty with dedication, teamwork, and school pride. We congratulate Mrs. Miller and every Liberty FFA member for an outstanding showing and for setting the bar high in our return year.

Golden Games Tradition Shines at Liberty Volleyball
This past Thursday evening, Liberty High School carried forward one of its most meaningful traditions as the Golden Games returned during the Liberty vs. Frontier volleyball matchup. Sponsored by ASB, this annual event unites our Patriot community to raise both awareness and funds for childhood cancer research.
The evening opened with powerful words of welcome:
“Welcome, everyone to tonight’s special volleyball game! We’re so excited to host our ‘Golden Games’ event dedicated to raising awareness for childhood cancer. Tonight, we honor the incredible strength of young cancer fighters and survivors. We’re especially proud to recognize one of our very own, Lucas Tate, a junior here at Liberty High School who bravely fought and beat cancer at just 19 months old.”

Following the sunrise and panoramic picture, seniors attended an assembly in the auditorium where important information was shared. Please see links below.
