Patriot Families,
I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to our Football Booster Parent Group for hosting Staff Appreciation Night and providing a delicious taco dinner. This annual tradition has always been one of my favorites, as it gives us the chance to share meaningful time with one another outside of the school day. Spending the evening surrounded by our staff and their families reminds me of the strong bonds that make Liberty such a special place.
My heart was also full watching our students compete at the Kern County Fair. It was such a proud moment to see Liberty jackets in the ring and to witness the confidence and poise our students carried themselves with, many of them showing for the very first time. What stood out just as much was the way our experienced students, parents, and our outstanding agriculture teacher, Mrs. Maghan Miller, pulled together to support one another. That spirit of teamwork and encouragement is what defines Liberty, and it was on full display.
Looking ahead, I want to highlight our upcoming Senior Family Night. This event is an important opportunity for seniors and their parents to gather valuable information about finishing high school strong, staying on top of key deadlines, and preparing for life after Liberty. I strongly encourage all seniors and their families to attend so that you are well-equipped for this exciting final stretch of high school.
As always, I am so proud of our students, staff, and families for the way we celebrate, support, and uplift one another. Thank you for making Liberty a place where both tradition and growth thrive.
Your partner in learning and growing, Leandrea Slayton Principal, Liberty High School
