Patriot Family,
As we enter this season of Thanksgiving, I find myself reflecting on the many moments, big and small, that fill my heart with gratitude. I know it may seem a little cheesy or dramatic, but every day as I walk through our campus, my heart truly feels like it could burst. The joy I feel watching our students and staff do incredible things is something I never take for granted.
This past week alone brought some unforgettable celebrations. On Friday night, our football team earned their way into the Central Section Championship, an accomplishment built on determination, teamwork, and heart. And on Saturday evening, our volleyball team defeated La Cañada to advance to the Southern California Finals, which they will host at home this Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. These big moments are such a thrill. They bring so much joy to all of us who get to witness the payoff of countless hours of hard work, commitment, and resilience.
But it’s not only the big victories that make me proud. It’s the everyday moments; the quiet, consistent efforts that often go unseen. I am inspired watching students choose to struggle through challenges, learn from mistakes, and grow with courage. I am deeply grateful for the culture our staff creates in their classrooms and across campus, where students feel safe to take risks, persevere, and find pride in both triumph and struggle. Those daily interactions and efforts are what truly define who we are and who we are becoming.
To our Liberty families: thank you for trusting us with your most prized possessions. Thank you for walking beside us on a journey that is never simple or linear, but always meaningful. Your partnership strengthens everything we do.
To our Liberty staff: thank you for pouring yourselves into this work every single day. Your dedication, compassion, and unwavering belief in our students is the heartbeat of this school.
And to our Liberty Patriots, our incredible students: you inspire me. You embody the future of this world. Your willingness to keep going, to keep growing, even when it’s difficult, reminds me every day why our work matters.
Families, please drive through the front of the PAC this Thursday for a small treat of gratitude in honor of Parent Involvement Day. We couldn’t do what we do without you.
I hope each of you has a wonderful week and a restful Thanksgiving break. And of course, come out and support our Patriots this week! I’ll be in the stands cheering right alongside you.
Your partner in learning and growing,
Leandrea Slayton
