Although the Section Tournament was rained out this past weekend, the pair heads into the rescheduled competition with remarkable momentum. They finished 8–0 in league, hold a 23–0 overall season record, and are 2–0 in playoff play so far.
Coach Campoy expressed tremendous pride in their performance this year, sharing,
"I am very proud of the season Kara and Emily have had. They are currently undefeated going into the Central Section Championships. They are great athletes and girls."
When asked about the key to their incredible success, both athletes pointed to the strength of their long-standing friendship and trust.
Kara reflected on the significance of their journey together:
"Having known Emily since Kindergarten has been such a blessing, and getting to close out my senior year with her as my tennis partner makes it even more special. I can’t wait to see how our season finishes.”
Emily shared similar sentiments about their bond:
"Kara and I have been friends since elementary school, and growing up together has truly been special. We have been on the same soccer team for years, and being doubles partners in tennis has only helped us grow closer. I see her more often than anyone else. I’m extremely grateful for our friendship and super sad this is our last year!"
Kara and Emily are not only champions on the court but outstanding student-athletes who embody The Patriot Way in everything they do. Their sportsmanship, leadership, and commitment to excellence represent the very best of Liberty High School.
We wish them the absolute best as they continue their playoff run and pursue a strong finish to an extraordinary season. Go Patriots!
