The PSAT is sometimes overlooked as simply a practice test for the SAT, but it can be much more than that. During the COVID-19 pandemic, many colleges and universities moved away from requiring SAT scores for admission. As a result, fewer students began taking the SAT and PSAT. What students may not realize is that the PSAT can open doors beyond college admissions. For high-achieving students, strong PSAT performance can lead to consideration for National Merit recognition and scholarship opportunities.
