The energy carried straight into game time. Freshmen led our team onto the field for the Frosh Soph football game, running across the field and into the stadium alongside the players they came to support. From there, they joined the PAT riot Crew in the student section, where upperclassmen taught them the cheers and traditions that make Friday nights at Liberty so special.
That is really the heart of Freshman Tailgate. School spirit does not just happen. It gets passed down, year after year, student to student. Giving our freshmen a comfortable, welcoming introduction to the student section is how we make sure that tradition keeps going.
Freshman Kaitlyn Spriet said the night was full of music, games, and friends, and that running onto the field with the Frosh Soph team to cheer them on was one of the most exciting parts of the evening.
Link Crew advisor Haleigh Earls summed up the purpose of the event well. "The purpose of Freshman Tailgate is to give the freshmen an opportunity to have fun as a collective group before supporting their fellow freshman football players."
A big thank you to Link Crew for keeping this tradition alive and for helping our freshmen feel like Patriots from day one.
