Seniors Celebrate Accomplishments and Future Commitments at Senior Commit Ceremony

During the ceremony, students were reminded of a tradition that began four years ago as freshmen when they placed their handprints on the “26” for the Class of 2026. That handprint symbolized a promise to themselves and their future, a commitment to persevere through high school and reach graduation.

“The students sitting before us today are not the same freshmen who first walked onto this campus four years ago,” shared school administration during the ceremony. “The commitment you made four years ago was to graduation. The commitment you make today is to your future.”

This year’s ceremony highlighted the many paths Liberty seniors will pursue after high school, including four-year universities, junior colleges, trade schools, military service, career training programs, and entering the workforce. A total of 255 students participated in the signing portion of the event, proudly announcing their future plans alongside their peers.

Counselor Heather Graham reflected on the significance of the day, sharing, “Whether going to college, trade school, the military, or straight to work, Senior Commit Day is an opportunity for our seniors to reflect back on past accomplishments and look forward to their next steps. We are proud of all that our seniors have accomplished!”

Counselor Sylvia Morales added, “Senior signing is a great way to celebrate the diverse paths our students will be taking next year. We love honoring them for their hard work and cheering on their next steps!”

The ceremony also recognized numerous academic honors and distinctions earned by the Class of 2026:

  • 363 students earned A-G completion status
  • 130 students received the Civic Seal
  • 84 students earned A-G or were potential A-G Gold Seal Bearers
  • 28 students were recognized as National Honor Society members
  • Department honors included:
    • 56 Social Studies Honors
    • 22 English Honors
    • 14 Spanish Honors
    • 21 Science Honors
    • 14 Art Honors
    • 13 Math Honors
  • 74 students earned the prestigious PLTW Medallion
  • 6 students received the RFEP Medal
  • 74 students were inducted into the Academic Hall of Fame

The morning was filled with pride, celebration, and encouragement as underclassmen and families witnessed the accomplishments of the senior class and the exciting futures ahead of them.

Liberty High School extends its gratitude to the families for their support and sacrifices throughout the students’ journeys, and to the teachers, counselors, and staff members who have invested countless hours guiding students toward success.
