Patriot Pulse Showcase Shines Spotlight on Liberty’s Spirit Teams

Organized by Lauren Shearon and Haleigh Earls along with their coaching staff, alumni Katie Clinton and Rylee George, and with the support of activity director Brooke Slayton, the showcase gave Liberty’s cheerleaders and dancers a well-deserved moment in the spotlight. Throughout the year, these athletes are often on the sidelines: leading cheers, performing at halftime, and supporting other programs, but this event flipped the script. It was their turn to be the main event.

The evening featured a collection of the teams’ favorite routines from the year, including spirited cheers and dynamic dance performances that highlighted their talent, precision, and school pride. Behind each performance is a level of dedication that often goes unseen. These athletes commit to 6 a.m. practices throughout the year, balancing early mornings, academics, and busy schedules, all while consistently showing up to support Liberty’s athletic teams and campus events.

More than performers, these students represent the very best of Liberty High School. They serve as leaders on campus, embodying the school’s core values in how they carry themselves, support their peers, and represent the Liberty brand at a wide range of functions and community events. Their commitment extends far beyond routines, it is rooted in pride, responsibility, and a deep connection to their school.

The turnout reflected just how much these athletes mean to the Liberty community. The bleachers were filled with family members, friends, staff, and students who came ready to cheer them on. Among those in attendance was Coach Podesta and members of the football program, a meaningful show of support for a group that consistently shows up for others.

Looking ahead, the future of the program is bright. Plans are already in place to continue growing, including the addition of a new mascot who will be incorporated into camp and choreographed alongside the spirit team to elevate performances and crowd engagement. Liberty is also proud to be the only school in town that features both a dance team and a cheer squad modeled after the collegiate level. These two teams work together seamlessly, doubling the spirit, energy, and overall participation at events and across campus.

The Patriot Pulse Showcase served as a powerful reminder that these students are truly the heartbeat of the campus. Their energy, leadership, and dedication help shape the culture at Liberty every single day, and Monday night was a well-deserved celebration of all they give to their school.

Liberty is proud of these athletes, not just for their performances, but for the passion, discipline, and pride they bring to everything they do.
