Freshman Biomed Students Explore Future Pathways at CSUB

During the trip, students toured CSUB’s nursing facilities, where they were introduced to the tools, technology, and learning environments used to prepare future healthcare professionals. A highlight of the day was being guided by Liberty alumna Isabel Horaska, who is currently part of the CSUB program. Seeing a familiar face thriving at the next level made the experience even more meaningful and inspiring for students.

In addition to the tour, CSUB nursing students shared valuable insights about their academic journeys. Freshmen Lily Franco and Veronica Paz noted how impactful it was to hear that failure is often a necessary part of success. The college students spoke honestly about challenges they’ve faced and how perseverance, along with effective study habits, helped them grow.

They also offered practical advice, including study strategies, helpful apps for mastering complex material, and the importance of identifying one’s personal learning style. These takeaways provided students with tools they can begin using right away in their own academic journeys.

While not all of Liberty’s Biomed students may choose to pursue a career in the medical field, the lessons learned during this trip extend far beyond any one profession. The emphasis on resilience, self-awareness, and effective learning will support students in whatever paths they choose to follow.
