Celebrating a Decade of Dedication: Coach Chris Campoy’s Impact on Liberty Tennis

Over the course of a decade, Coach Campoy has coached hundreds of Liberty athletes, guiding them not only in developing their tennis skills but also in learning the values of commitment, perseverance, and teamwork. Among those athletes were two who made the experience even more special for him, his own grandchildren.

Coach Campoy had the unique and meaningful opportunity to coach his grandson, Bradley Campoy, who was the number one varsity player during both his junior and senior seasons at Liberty. Bradley has since continued his academic and athletic journey and is currently a junior at Arizona State University.

More recently, Coach Campoy coached his granddaughter, Kara Campoy, who has built an impressive tennis resume of her own. Alongside her partner, Emily Cove, Kara became a Division I doubles champion, a remarkable accomplishment that reflects both talent and dedication to the sport. Just this weekend Kara received even more exciting news. She has been recognized as one of only three female athletes in the Central Section nominated for Female Tennis Player of the Year, with the award set to be announced on June 8.

Reflecting on his time at Liberty, Coach Campoy shared, “Coaching at Liberty was one of the highlights of my life. Throughout the years I coached some amazing, hardworking kids, including my grandkids. It has been a pleasure representing Liberty High School.”

While his time with the Liberty program has concluded, Coach Campoy’s commitment to the sport of tennis continues. Through NOR he remains deeply involved in coaching and developing young athletes, working with an average of 150 players each week.

Liberty High School is grateful for Coach Campoy’s decade of service, leadership, and passion. His dedication has left a lasting mark on the program and on the many athletes who learned to love the game of tennis under his guidance.
