Scoring 1,000 career points is a rare achievement at any level of high school basketball. At Liberty, it is even more exceptional. Ellee is only the second player in school history to reach the milestone in three seasons or less. Achieving this as a junior makes the moment even more exciting, with the remainder of this season still ahead and another full high school season on the horizon.
Ellee’s scoring progression tells the story of consistent growth and dedication. As a freshman, she scored 277 points. That number jumped significantly during her sophomore season, where she posted 453 points. This year, she has already added 280 points and counting, pushing her past the 1,000-point mark before the season’s end.
Girls basketball head coach Damarius Akins, best known as DA, credits Ellee’s work ethic as the foundation of her success: “What you see from Ellee on the stat sheet and how she plays on game night is a testament to her commitment to being the best player she can be,” Akins said. “She is who she is because of her preparation and hard work when nobody is watching.”
Beyond the numbers, Ellee’s achievement reflects hours of practice, discipline, and a drive to continuously improve. Her milestone is not just a personal accomplishment, but a proud moment for the Liberty basketball program and school community.
Ellee says of her accomplishment, "Getting 1000 points in 2 and 3/4 years is a great accomplishment, but I owe a lot of it to our coaching staff and head coach D.A. for believing in me. It means more to me than just basketball itself. I have played with great teammates who believed in me when I was young and got the ball into my hands. Without them, none of this is possible. And last but not least, all the glory to God for without Him, nothing is possible."
As Ellee continues to add to her point total this season and looks ahead to her senior year, her journey is far from finished. One thing is certain: her name is already etched into Liberty history, and the future remains bright for this standout junior.
