National Social Studies Honor Society Honors Local Veterans

In just one afternoon, students created over 140 cards expressing their gratitude for the service and sacrifice of the men and women who have served our country. Sophomores Juliet Thompson and Brooke Porter shared, “It's important for us to make sure that veterans know that their sacrifices weren’t in vain.”

NSSHS Club President Madi Porter echoed that sentiment, saying, “It’s amazing how these men and women put their lives on the line for us.”

Mrs. Brummer added, “Writing these cards is one important way we can reach out to our local veterans personally and thank them for their service and let them know that their dedication and sacrifices have not gone unnoticed. Veterans have also told me that it means a lot to hear these words of thanks from the younger generation.”

Each card also included a Save-the-Date for the NSSHS annual Veterans Appreciation Day, which will take place on Wednesday, March 11. If you know a veteran who you would like to see honored at this event, please contact Mr. Sausedo at [email protected].
