This week, the Floral Design students took on their first big hands on project of the year, creating over 90 rose arrangements for senior night before the Homecoming football game. These beautiful floral pieces were presented to honor senior football players, band and colorguard members, and spirit team members.
Senior Stevi Boles shared, “Floral is a super fun and hands on class. We get to learn about all kinds of different flowers and make arrangements, while still getting to learn about and experience all the different opportunities FFA has to offer.” Her enthusiasm reflects the blend of creativity and career readiness that the class provides.
As students worked to assemble the rose arrangements, the classroom buzzed with energy and collaboration. Senior Ryley Hall noted, “Having a class like this boosts my mood for the entire day.” The joy of crafting something meaningful together is a hallmark of Liberty’s Ag Program, where learning extends beyond textbooks and into real life experiences.
For sophomore Bailee Payne, the floral class offers a unique creative outlet. “It’s an awesome class that gives me the opportunity to make art and have it be appreciated by others,” she said. “I look forward to floral and seeing what beautiful arrangements we’ll create next.”
Under the direction of Ag teacher Maghan Miller, the Floral Design class continues to blossom, teaching students valuable skills in design, teamwork, and professionalism. With each project, they are not just arranging flowers, they are cultivating creativity, community, and pride in Liberty High School. Eventually, the floral program will take on an even bigger role, providing beautiful arrangements for schoolwide events like graduation, senior awards, and more.
