Liberty Artists Shine at Via Arte 2025

Representing Liberty High with pride, our student team included Zoey Stafford, Ceila Perez, Olivia Meek, Izabel Bennett, Lilah Buford, Adaleigh Woodman, Madison Morris, Fatima Hernandez, Taylor Billinsley, and Paisley Blanquette. Under the guidance of art teacher Sarah Galacia, the group arrived bright and early Saturday morning to continue Liberty’s tradition of participating in this beloved community event.

In just seven hours, the team recreated “Boreas” by John Williams, a striking and dynamic work that captivated eventgoers and demonstrated the students’ exceptional talent and collaboration.

“On Saturday a group of my art students met at the Marketplace bright and early to continue the tradition of participating in the event,” said Ms. Galacia. “This year this talented team of artists recreated ‘Boreas’ by John Williams in just 7 hours!”

Senior artist Zoey Stafford shared of the experience, "Being able to share a creative space with so many other talented individuals was phenomenal; collaboration is not always an easy task, but we all came together wonderfully to represent our school and most importantly make a beautiful piece. I’m so glad I got to have this experience my senior year."

In addition to guiding her students, Ms. Galacia also participated in the artist division, teaming up with her best friend to recreate “Jewel Thief” by Edwin Georgi. Their work stood out among dozens of professional and community artists for its vivid color and expressive detail.

The Via Arte festival is a wonderful celebration of art and community, featuring student teams from schools across the region, live music, and spectators who gather to admire the creativity and talent on display. Events like these remind us of the power of art to bring people together, and we’re proud that Liberty High continues to be a part of this inspiring tradition.
