Coach Podesta - Minutemen Basketball Academy Hosts First Annual Varsity Tournament at Liberty

Powerhouse programs such as Modesto Christian, Clovis, and Ventura joined the competition, bringing high-level play to Bakersfield. Local representation was strong as well, with athletes from Bakersfield Christian, Bakersfield High, and North High taking the court. The tournament was a celebration of skill, sportsmanship, and community, shining a spotlight on Liberty’s growing role as a hub for athletic excellence.

Coach Nicholas Podesta expressed his excitement about the event’s success and its impact on the basketball community:

"We couldn't be more excited to bring an event of this caliber to Bakersfield. This campus strives to set the standard in all aspects of the high school experience: academically and athletically, and we're working to put together a first-class event serving some of the top programs from across the state. This is a terrific event for our basketball community and I'm excited to see how events such as these will grow and improve over the years. We're just getting started."

The tournament marks an important milestone for Liberty’s Minutemen Basketball Academy, setting the foundation for what promises to become an annual tradition. With strong competition, enthusiastic support, and a vision for the future, the event highlighted both the excellence of student-athletes and the commitment of Liberty High School to providing first-class opportunities.
