Wishes came true for nearly 30 Liberty students on Wednesday last week as junior class ASB leaders brought them meals from Raising Cane’s or Chick-fil-A, an Owala water bottle, a box of Oreo cookies, oranges, and ice cream sandwiches.
The students had filled out a Google doc earlier in the school year to ask for something special. Gracie Dean, the “wish” coordinator for ASB said the juniors “filtered out the impossible ones” and granted wishes for snacks, meals and small items. The most unusual wish granted was for a soup ladle, requested by Eduardo Flores.
The juniors went into the students’ classrooms with a sign and their “wish.”
“They were really happy,” Gracie said of the recipients.
Sophomore Lexi Wheeler said she knew that she was going to get her wish for a Raising Cane’s meal as she saw the ASB students coming to her classroom. “I loved it,” she said, her bag of food and soda in hand.
Gracie Dean said the ASB students will be asking students what they wish for again this semester. “We’re going to try to have another Wish Wednesday,” she said.
