A two-semester course designed to introduced students to basic computer terms and concepts and provides hands experience for learning word processing, database, spreadsheet, graphics, integrated applications, desktop publishing, internet, and presentation programs. Students will use Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Publisher and Microsoft PowerPoint.

Graphic Arts 1/2

An examination of the digital tools used in the visual arts. Students are exposed to the theory and function of the major software packages and basic
digital design principles utilized in the visual arts. Topics include typography, vector and bitmap imaging, page layout, PDF creation and
editing. Students will use Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash and InDesign.
This course satisfies the district Fine Arts graduation requirement.
Video Production 1
Grades 9-12
Credits: 5 per semester.
Prerequisite: None
Max credit: 5 per semester.
A two-semester course designed to expose student to video technology, including basic terminology, camera work, scripting, storyboarding, and editing for a professional looking, artistic, final product. Students will learn the varying techniques used to produce video documentaries, commercials, music videos, broadcast news, and “sitcoms”, as well as the Liberty High School Video Yearbook. Students will learn to use a video editor and effects generator to achieve professional and aesthetical quality videotapes.
This course satisfies the district Fine Arts graduation requirement.

Prerequisite: Completion of Video 1 with a “C” or better.
