Letter from the Principal
Patriot Family,
What a remarkable week it has been! I had the privilege of visiting Cal State Bakersfield to watch three of our Liberty Robotics teams compete in the state competition. Their commitment, collaboration, and dedication to both programming and strategy are truly inspiring. I am especially proud of our team that won the Skills Competition and the Excellence Award, qualifying them to compete in the VEX Robotics World Championship next month in St. Louis.
I also stopped by Liberty to visit alumni Jordan Love and Krys Barnes before their annual youth camp. Their loyalty, humility, and willingness to give back to their community remind me of the incredible potential of students currently walking our halls.
This past week we also received glowing feedback from our mid-cycle WASC virtual visit. Also, during classroom visits and student interviews for the annual check-in on where Liberty is on ensuring our PRIDE core values and interventions are implemented with fidelity, district reviewers highlighted the strength of our Tier I instruction and the engagement they saw in every classroom. Our focus on the Patriot Way and core values is clearly resonating with students and staff, validating the work we are doing while also showing us opportunities to grow even further.
This week juniors will be doing state testing in their ELA class. Please encourage them to be here and to do their best as this test is helpful in their level placement in colleges and is a valuable metric for us at Liberty to know how we are doing.
This Friday morning we are hosting a Coffee with the Principal. I look forward to seeing you there. Thank you for partnering with us in learning, growing, and celebrating the potential of every Patriot.
Your partner in learning and growing, Leandrea Slayton Principal

Liberty Honors Veterans as History Comes to Life on Campus
Earlier this week, Liberty High School had the honor of welcoming dozens of veterans to campus for the annual Veterans Appreciation event hosted by the Social Studies Honor Society. The day provided a powerful opportunity for students and staff to thank the men and women who have served our country while also learning directly from their experiences.

CAML Competition Concludes with an Exciting Finish
The final CAML (Continental American Mathematics League) test of the year took place this past week, bringing an exciting conclusion to a season of friendly competition and mathematical challenge. Throughout the year, dozens of students stepped up to test their problem-solving skills in a fun and engaging environment, demonstrating that a love for mathematics can thrive even during a lunch break.
A huge thank you goes to our dedicated math department for organizing and hosting these competitions throughout the year. By giving up their lunches to run the CAML tests, they have created a meaningful opportunity for students to challenge themselves, grow their confidence, and celebrate academic competition.
