What a great first week of school! We finished the week with our first Patriot P.R.I.D.E Friday. Patriot P.R.I.D.E is an acronym for our core values:
Power of One – One person can make a difference. We all make an impact; What kind of impact will you make?
Responsibility – We are responsible for our actions, to do the right thing for ourselves and others.
Integrity – We do the right thing, even when it is hard or when no one is looking.
Dedication - We persevere and stick with doing good and what is right, even when it is difficult.
Everyone - It has been said one is too small of a number to be great. We can only be great together!
This week students can join us at the Kick-Off Dance on Wednesday and the Freshmen have a tailgate BBQ after school on Thursday, prior to the Frosh/Soph football game. Every Monday is a 1 Hour Early Out
Each Monday, 7th period ends at 2:23pm. Teachers use this time to collaborate with members of their department and colleagues who teach the same course. This allows teachers to work together in building quality curriculum, designing effective lessons, reviewing common assessments, and ensuring authentic literacy is integrated into each course. Scheduled Safety Drill this Thursday
This Thursday, August 22, we will conduct a Lockdown and Fire Drill. All staff were trained in our safety procedures at back to school meetings. This drill will provide staff and students an opportunity to practice our procedures. To reduce the impact on instructional time we will be on a 2nd Period Activity Schedule. In conjunction with other school districts and law enforcement agencies in Kern County, the Kern High School District uses a uniform, planned, and practiced standard response protocol (SRP).

Athletic Tickets Sold Online
The Kern High School District uses GoFan.co for fans to purchase tickets for athletic contests. We encourage all tickets to be purchased online prior to the game. Students with an ASB sticker get free entry. ASB Stickers are not valid for playoffs.

ParentVUE App Allows Parents to View Grades
The Synergy ParentVUE app allows parents to monitor their student's grades and attendance. If you have your student's 6 digit UID (student number) and birthdate you can set up your account remotely. In addition, Mrs. Cavazos in the parent center can also help you in person, over the phone, or via email.
