Liberty High School is Growing Stronger Than Ever

At Liberty, growth is not only measured in numbers but also in opportunities for students to connect, thrive, and discover their passions. Principal Leandrea Slayton shared,

“It is a priority that every student on our campus has a place to plug-in, where they find their spark and enrichment that connects them to Liberty High School. This not only makes their time here more impactful, a sense of belonging increases their engagement and confidence in everything they do.”

From athletics to academics, arts to activities, Liberty is creating spaces where every student can feel a true sense of belonging.

Agriculture has returned to Liberty this year under the leadership of Mrs. Maghan Miller. Students have already been working hard through the summer and will be proudly representing Liberty at the fair next month.
E-Sports is relaunching, giving students a chance to compete as part of a team while representing Liberty on digital battlefields. Coaches Mr. Eddie Watson and Mr. Julian Alias are preparing teams with an eye toward not only high school competitions but also collegiate-level opportunities.
Speech nad Debate continues its tradition of excellence with Mr. Ziegler, who has guided many students to success at the national level reinstates the Forensics class.

Liberty is also broadening its Career Technical Education (CTE) pathways, preparing students for success beyond high school. Dance is now a CTE pathway under the guidance of Ms. Wendy Wisheropp and Mrs. Lauren Shearon. Theatre has become a CTE pathway led by Mrs. Caitlin Herring. Computer Science is offered as a CTE pathway by Mr. Eddie Watson.

Beyond pathways, Liberty’s Robotics program is building on last year’s trip to Worlds. With a dedicated new practice space, Mr. Tom Johnson and his students are preparing for an even bigger year. Similarly, Academic Decathlon, under the leadership of Mr. Brian Hartman and Ms. Rosa Rascon, is gearing up for growth and competition.

The Liberty experience is enriched through Honor Societies, community service opportunities, and dozens of student-run clubs. With Club Rush Day in September, students will have the chance to sign up for organizations that spark their interests, connect them with friends, and expand their horizons.

As Liberty High School continues to grow, it remains committed to its core mission: providing students with not just an education, but also a community. With so many ways to connect, compete, and create, this year promises to be one of the most exciting yet.
