Throughout the week, classrooms across campus have been filled with powerful conversations centered around our shared commitment: we are all here to graduate, and we are all here to grow. Teachers and students explored what it means to stay focused on the journey ahead, anchored in this year’s theme: Keep Going, Keep Growing.
One standout moment came from Mr. Ogden Kiesel’s Intro to Physical Science 6th period classroom, where he used peacock feathers to illustrate an important life lesson. He demonstrated how focusing on the top of the feather allows the body to naturally maintain balance. Students were given the chance to try balancing feathers themselves—even on their foreheads—discovering that keeping their eyes up helped them stay steady.
In reflecting on the time spent on these conversations and experiences, Mr. Keisel stated, “Spending time in the first two weeks allowing students to let their guards down is time well-spent and gained back down the road.” His message was clear: by keeping our heads up and our eyes forward, we maintain perspective and avoid getting stuck on problems.
As we begin this school year, the energy on campus is contagious. From celebrations in the quad to meaningful lessons in the classroom, Liberty High is already living out our values. Together, we’ll keep going, keep growing—and ensure that everyone is part of the journey.
