Liberty Spanish teacher Marycoco Ramirez said, “The students heard inspiring speakers and participated in engaging workshops and a campus tour. These students learned valuable lessons in leadership and how to navigate college, especially as first-generation students.”
One Liberty student, Alex Juarez, said that the trip was educational and fun. “It opened my eyes for a college option,” he said. “The campus was nice and they treated us well.”
Alfredo Ayala agreed. “What I enjoyed about the field trip was the experiences shared by college students,” he said. “The people who shared the experiences made me realize that you can start from nothing but be successful. We have privileges and should use them as an advantage.”
Ms. Ramirez explained that it is essential for students to tour college campuses before making a choice for their college experience. “Experiencing the campus can help you truly understand if the university is a good fit for you and help you narrow your decision to select the campus that is more adequate for your specific needs, values and interests.”
