The Liberty GSA advisors, Brooke Richter and Alyson Moss, received the Rookie of the Year Award, which honored the teachers for their achievements and dedication to the club as new advisors in the 2023-24 school year.
What is unique about these awards and scholarships is that staff and students nominated the recipients, who then completed and submitted an application to the Lavender Awards Committee, made up of volunteer GSA advisors. The goal of the Lavender Awards is to build community and recognition for LGBTQ+ students and allies across KHSD. Senior students received a signed certificate and a lavender pin in honor of their graduation from high school.
