Coming into the tournament second-seeded, LHS swept East, Bakersfield High, and Centennial, losing games only in the finals to the talented Independence High School team.
eSports are competitive video games. League of Legends is a five versus five team-based strategy game with the end goal of destroying the other team’s base.
LHS team members are seniors Braden Fahey, Caleb Harbour, Jerome Agbay, Silas Evans, Alex Young, and junior Truong Huy Nguyen.
Coach Cade Brummer said, "Our League of Legends team was everything that I could have hoped for. They worked hard, they communicated at every step, they were a cohesive unit, they supported each other, and they competed to the best of their ability every match.”
The team has been practicing on Monday and Wednesday afternoons since the second week of school preparing for the season. While the League of Legends season is over, the Overwatch game season starts this week.
