This is the presentation counselors gave to current 9th graders prior to selecting courses for 2024-2025.

welcome to the sophomore registration video for the class of 2027 today you'll be meeting with your counselor to take a look at your transcript and talk about how on track you are for your goal halfway through freshman year you should have earned 30 credits so far take a look at your transcript when you meet with your counselor to see if you're on track when you see your transcript you can look at the bottom right-hand corner where you see the gray Arrow to check for the number of credits that you have completed so far if you ever want to see a copy of your unofficial transcript just log on to student view and select course history on the left and unofficial transcript at the top as we start to think about next year you want to understand what the a through G requirements are these are the courses that you have to take in order to go straight to a 4-year College out of high school each of the letters a through G represent a different category and you can see on this chart the number of years required for each category is important to remember that each of these classes must be taken at a College Prep or higher level and you must earn grades of seas or better so if you're currently in college prepper gate you're on track with the courses that you have if you're in a general level course and you're looking to get back on track for eligibility to a four-year College be sure to talk with your counselor today listed here are the visual Performing Arts courses that meet the F requirement one of the Ada G require as you begin to think about next year's classes you'll also want to know that there are advanced level courses offered so if you're currently engaged classes have the opportunity to take some honors or dual enrollment courses if you're currently in college prep level classes you might want to talk to your counselor about entering the gate program if you're earning High marks in your classes this year's summer school is offered from June 3rd through July 12th from 7:30 a.m. to noon you can only take one course each of the two semesters that are offered talk with your cancer today if you think there's a summer school class you need to take for sophomore year you can receive a PE exemption if you take if you play one or more sports during your sophomore year one sport equals 5 credit otherwise you will be taking PE again sophomore year in order to meet those 20 credit requirements for PE now I can there's going to pause the video and talk to you about registering for your for core classes and now we'll talk about the electives that are offered he'll be taking the papers you have with you up to the counseling office to meet with your counselor individually we hope you finish out the rest of your freshman year very strong
