movies that are behaving fat and I'm going to laugh I can see you guys a reset and I'm in a lot of really great so I'm super proud of you for that you don't know who I am I'm waiting on their activities director I have about a hundred and five years have kids and help me put on all the things that we do on campus all the fun things so can you get without that Army and we do that because I want to try to have some fun things that you do on campus so that maybe some of the not so fun things like they're just terrible and you can get through okay that's kind of the NFL today find two of 10 theme what are expectations are of you guys are sophomores you're no longer freshmen and went to remind you just some basic things cuz remember last week that's why I just started school with so Rob because call Vicky were so afraid to put you all in one place in the gym and talk to you about what our expectations were and then like we got something here for a couple weeks of school and it was like whoa we didn't tell him how to act so we can expect me to know so kind of the same concept was doing earlier this year this is how we like to do it this year I seen the Patriots On The Rise hopefully you've not heard this before the first time today hopefully our teachers went over this with you second. Just a reminder because I play tindersticks that Reese that was our team last year but you might have to reset a couple times this year to just know that that's always okay to do that this year they are a Riordan Church On The Rise and the R&R is a resiliency what what does that mean Patriots are resilient that just means that we're going to have a hard day you're gonna have days that are ear like man's you're dealing with tough family stuff that here is struggling in school you're going to have tough day but you're going to get through it and you're going to be okay and you're going to get us no matter how many times you fall that's what me and resilience right and then just in case we forgot let's just revisit this really right cuz if you're talking to me I'm not going to talk over your right as you're standing down here to sing the national anthem you're introducing your sports team I don't do this to me until that expectation is that you guys could be that new source that's right I want angry the movie The Iron Rises for intentional Patriots are intentional or unintentional that are academic thank you guys know who's going to do the work unless you do. Be a graduate right be intentional about your grades you need help ask for be intentional about your relationship friendships are parked right ones are hard you have to be intentional about making good relationships and keeping good relationship about your habits because what you do on the right create who you are as a person the address for service we'll talk about a community service project in a little bit and then the E is for enjoying a little thing cuz I'm here to tell you we do some really fun football games are pea gravel sorbet homecoming said we do a lot of fun things but at the end of the day it's all the little things that you collect over the four years of high school that you look back if you go by a little things for the big thing so just keep that in find joy in the little things homecoming is one of them we do it bigger and better anybody in town maybe even the state I'm not sure that anybody that I know of does homecoming quite like we do it just a reminder that's a great way for you guys to get involved on campus and be a part of it is a week-long thing if you're out there in play every night get to be on the float before we shut the lights off all that good stuff software has won last year but I don't think your picture another class when you can't win what does outside of a century and I held it and it's a whole thing it was so sad people were like it was real guns like it was not rare you know what it looks like all right so that is a thing that it was really great Tradition at Liberty as we always partner with somebody in our community for a school-wide community service project so we partner with some great organizations that is super excited about this year we're going to partner with Marley much and then if I have to pee more minutes do we have puppies there if you were free puppies to campus at lunch and you guys all stressed out around final a lot of things in the works and then we are also going to be back SPCA because they always have a blanket to the adoption days and things like that we're going to do some of our Snow White Drive targeted towards that I need and giving them some supplies so be on the lookout for opportunities to participate in field trips and work Dave and then obviously we do a couple of school like community service drives for them self that is super funny all right just a reminder behind me but he stands for what power up RS4 responsibility the D is for and the E is for everyone so I haven't went to all of this makes up our Patriot Way patient waypoints this should not be in something that's new to you but just in case I want Sheridan PowerPoint out with you guys on your class campus page so you can act like it blank if you don't know what the PJs how is your how to access your point if you can download that and it tells you how to login the new slide in the store so we remember you were doing that in the Dean's office today it free ice cream for everybody at lunch. fire near point you to come celebrate the first week of school but then after that we are the Patriots right Friday once a month sometimes it's kind of funny time of year in what we can get for what biologist gets repeated new things we have color changing Cup right we had on it like a pop color T-shirt that has ice cream on it with a sunroof Play Take It on the Run REO all right everybody should have gotten their ID card already this year if you haven't you should I'll be able to pick that up in the library if not they are Distributing those through your second I believe it's either through your second. Class or your English class so be on the lookout for that if you don't have it it's a reminder to driving some of your driving so by the end of your probably a lot of you will be driving we require anybody to carry your school ID card with you on campus at all times. That's a life skill right I think about repairing you for the night and when you started writing you have to carry your California driver's license with you by law you have to have it on your person so that is why we won asking carrier ID card to it makes it easy for anything that you might do in the finance office 3 it has your ASB sticker on it and so you get if you get your ASB sticker at you getting every game in the district for free not just the Liberty games and then you can go to any school if so explain why I asked you to go to that game get in for free we have to stick up write a contract we have a contract for each dance every dance is a little bit different the first dance is the K-pop dance is next Wednesday be on the lookout for more information but if you want to attend a concert and if you paid for it to call me on Skype the game the only one that we do that way everything else was creeped out and we do have different dress codes for formal prom and then a regular day I need to know that all of you guys to demonstrate but each year we have one that we just focus on a little bit more to kind of just find me to the core value. Patients huge communicate all of these things because if you could ground call for relationships right so in the classroom on campus it's teacher to student student to teacher that's chain-of-command that's the first line of defense for communication right then if you're not getting where you need to go to still frustrated apparently the parent could step in and we talked to your T-shirt we're still having trouble and things are still blurry and I'm frustrated and we can have a counselor help out then we can take it to get the problem solved but if you just go I'm frustrated and pulling a baseball and doesn't work like that okay or you 6 L first try to solve it out contact in our classroom same concept on campus over the last three years it's covid and politics it is an ugly world the ugliest laying in my bed two years and I feel bad for you as a high school kid to even have to play through it but you know what you're resilient and if you still need to respect you don't have to agree with somebody but you can have mutual respect and that's what we're going to do here at Liberty. But we're going to hold you to that you showed me of the respect of your peers or classmates are teachers or staff are security guards are custodians across the board all right all right. dress code because we have to so don't make me renewed my compliment can we go did you ever get that way I don't need to do it okay so here we go by somebody's cuz like the hot hot items right but they're not just school appropriate cuz you can't wear those the school will give you a nice PE t-shirt to wear if you wear that also the dress code when Hannah is a job that is not Liberty different it's a Kern High School District dress code you guys have to be covered armpit to mid-thigh alright I know it's Rob she's pretty cool I know if the trends are you know that clothing a little more I can't wear strapless tops Ladies sorry boys you either try everything else have a shot and it can't be a spaghetti strap get me a double strap if it's not interested well alright moving on opposite for me to go to a few safety tips in the events that we have some kind of crisis on our campus he's not going to use the microphone cuz he's cool enough to not need one nice quiet please camera can't do this quick as I can 5 minutes in and out okay if I see you talking I will call you out in front of everybody it happened in the last past Freshman Class read up a time and I just walked out guy cuz I'm not going to deal with it I'm not going to talk over you and I'm not going to be disrespected by somebody who wants to talk to their friends and I listen about something that is really our world today really serious, you guys saw the Texas shooting Uvalde that show hands should be everybody okay but all your classrooms there should be a post narwhal the says next slide and then there's another one that's evacuate there's a couple different ones that we're going to talk about this one which says secure and lock down okay secure basically means we're going to lock the gates and doors exterior doors office doors any door in the back over here wherever there's a crisis going on close to the school but it's outside the school which means you guys can still conduct business as usual inside the campus but nobody will be allowed in and out parents going to pick you up at an off-campus appointment it's going to have to wait until lockdown lockdown up for something serious is going on on campus okay it can be a lot of different things it could be a gas leak somebody you know play some chasing something outside they jump onto our campus we don't know where they're at searching for vehicle shooting via stabbing it could be all kinds of things okay lockdown what are you guys do you do what you're told to do Guy the one time in an adult on the school campus whether you agree or not you do it very very very important Securities going to grab you and they're going to throw you into a random classroom if you're out running around they may push you into a bathroom that's where you're stuck it could be 10 minutes if you 30 minutes I can be 6 hours but we will get you out into the safe place as soon as possible also in your classrooms the blind going to be lights are going to be out please silence your cell phones try and stay off her cell phones how many kids are in your 500-plus right as Ron your cell phones plus the freshman all the Douglas block the cell towers which means me as a police officer if I have to call other officers to come help me I cannot get ahold of anybody to come help cuz you guys are all on your phone so please please stay off your phone also be quiet as quiet as you can cuz if there's somebody trying to get into classrooms they're going to look for noise or looking for people salsa the blinds are closed and asked why in the dark cuz we want them run hide fight real quick if you can't get away from anything like they say something big is happening in your but another building about your class and somebody comes in there you have three choices run ladder fight run memes run simple hi I'm trying to but if somebody actually comes in you left with one option I'm on optional in this fight that means you grab anything and everything possible that you can find laptops speakers projectors flagpoles fire extinguishers start protecting yourself and your Pierce okay the worst thing you can do is nothing the worst thing you can do is nothing because then you become a Target and you will become a victim guy become a statistic all right I'm here for all of you guys but you're as a mentor I worked the streets for many years I have three kids of my own I have a senior sophomore so I'm here to help you guys I'm not here to get you guys in trouble so you may think that that's my lunch that's it. does it have any questions come see me we talk some more dinosaur videos okay. Star Gold sitting here today you're not singing about this but we are this is where we're trying to get you this is what it looks like and it feels amazing all of the things that we put in place ever all of these presentations are for you we see day and night about how we can prepare you for this moment and we want you to take it seriously you guys that are representing Liberty are going to end up in this place and it's amazing so sophomore year is the baby years almost everything in your schedule is a graduation requirement if you're thinking about playing sports in college you do not have one minute to mess around you should talk to your counselor the earlier you know what you want to do that earlier you should connect with us so he can help you make sure you're on the right track sophomore year is a big Academic Year it's the first time in GTA count for colleges with scholarships and grants when you get there so it's important will be working throughout the year to help me set bowls we do it at school why so don't worry we'll to you but your counselors are here if you have specific questions the best way to do it is to email us so that we can help you make sure you're on track for graduation when you get there you can earn special ignition the cords the sashes the tassel those come from Hartford to pay daily in honors clubs and those types of programs when you have Club Rush day in a couple check out those tables the way that you earn this is by working hard now everyday everyday matters and you guys matter thank you and a lot of the Honor Society membership sophomore year at Tyson portent lightning to hear those it's better than no find out about it now in South Korea we are We Are Moving On Moving On Moving On breathing in the microphone reminding you guys again want you to be all of these things when you leave Irving High School but most importantly we want you to graduate wait for you to follow what's happening on campus but most important is on canvas you guys have a class of 2025 canvas painting and then you should also be on the Liberty 101 still when you hit local invite. they just enjoying it cuz they're going to send out information and communication we do that for focusing on things throughout the school year as this is a great way for you to get repeated information in addition to the Daily Bulletin okay I got it for you I need to turn it over to this year's right. Carla. we have one I love it love it energy okay a competition last year the sophomores one Cullman County driver's license so it is possible and you guys are competing at every rally for so just for men at the end of the year you're working for the legacy of your class going on the spirit Banner on the wall to hang the gym forever and ever and ever so we have a meeting babe we went from 14 to 2 teams team red team blue like a freedom fighter in the Revolutionary so if you see teachers getting into games and things like that that's why and you guys have 537 days to graduate more like 770 or something crazy like that so anyway you guys want you to have a fantastic year we have to take it out 3 minutes until the Bowery you can come down and look for you just can't quite believe yet so thank you and have an amazing year
