Community Service
LINK CREW
Volunteer to mentor an incoming freshman student. Take an active part in our new LINK CREW Program. Liberty High School is looking for students who are willing to assist others in the transition from junior high into high school. You have all been there and done that – let us help someone else do the same! See Mrs. Davis in the Counseling Office.
Students can gain valuable experience though volunteering for community service. Students donate their time and energy in many ways to better their community and to help the less fortunate. Listed below are a few agencies, which work with student volunteer. For others, check the Community Services blue pages in the front of the telephone book, join a Liberty High School club, or join a youth group at church or in your community. The news media is also a good information source about bike rides, runs, and other events that raise money to assist others. Watch for opportunities to help others. Be creative. Develop a project of your own.
Not only college admission forms but also many scholarship providers seek candidates who have completed hours of community service. Keep a record of your community service. One place store this record is in your Personal Portfolio in the Career Center. This Community Service Record should include: Date, Organization, hours served, and supervisor’s signature. You might also want to include a Letter of Reference written by this supervisor. By maintaining an accurate record of your service, you will be ready to remember and site this information when needed.
